SYNOPSIS
The Shaman’s Journey is the evolution of the shamanism in a small town in the North Coast of Perú.
We take the story of 5 generations in a family that made survive this ancient knowledge through the intangible heritage acquired by the firstborns.
This story is told from the point of view of Walther Vera, the first born of the last shaman of the Vera´s family.
THE PROPOSAL:
Structure has been set in 3 blocks perfectly marked with characters constantly growing through the figure of the next character.
In the first block, the grand father passes on his wisdom to the grandson, who is the character in the second block the third block being a filmmaker’s personal search through an ancient tradition by the shamans of the Lambayeque culture and the sum of their generations presented in the previous blocks.
The audio of «The Shaman’s Journey» is supported by discussions with professionals from different fields such as anthropology, sociology and artists that have been closely linked with the shamans of the Vera family. The images that accompany these voices, declare a poetic language and observational interaction on atmospheres and locations.
