The Shaman’s journey is a trip through the story of my family through my memories.
I am the filmmaker of this documentary, and I decided to go back to my origins, and look into the shaman’s profession through my ancestors that still present in the Peruvian dry forest in located in the north coast, in a small town named Tucume.

The Shaman’s Journey is a personal reflection about a magical-religious practice transmitted through oral stories and songs in indigenous communities in Peru. Shamanism is a tradition practiced by my family that could disappear because my father, the main shaman, doesn’t feel ready to transmit those knowledge to the next generation. Shamanism is attached to ancestral wisdom intangibles to indigenous cultures.
